Do you guys
make the bags yourselves?
Yes.
Yessir, we do...just the two of us from start to finish.
We believe in working our fingers to the bone instead of the
fingers of child workers in southeast Asian countries. We
DON'T like bags that are packaged in plastic wrappers and come
in a box of 50. We DO, however, love quality control.
Who does what?
Marsha is our sole-seamstress. Paige does everything else
(design, cutting, prep, webdesign, writing all the copy,
customer service, p.r., boutique sales, and running our own
studio boutique.)
Do you have
other people working for you?
Nope.
We're workhorses. Though we trick people into believing
we're an enormous company, the two of us do it all.
Why don't you
use snaps on your bags?
We're old
fashioned. We believe that the easy way is not necessarily
the best way (especially when it comes to the security of your
handbag's contents.) We believe that our buttons could fit
more class and style in their shank than 500 thousand snaps
could fit in a 500-thousand-snap-weeklong-festival.
When/how did
you guys get started?
We started designing and making bags for ourselves out of
stockpiles of hoarded vintage fabrics in 2003. People
showed interest, Paige taught herself web-design and how to be a
PR girl in addition to a designer, Marsha became even more of a
sew-wizard, and things took off from there.
How do we get
the latest Cahoots news and sale information?
You can become a friend of Cahoots on
myspace.com where
Paige does updates on a regular basis. That is where we
post information about new bags, upcoming shows, and weekly
studio updates.
I'm near
Dallas, can we visit the Cahoots Studio?
You sure may. We welcome visitors because our bags are
best experienced in person and it's easy to fall in love with
your perfect bag when you get your hands on it. Our studio
and boutique is open Monday-Saturday from 10-5 and is
located at 205 South Commerce, just off the courthouse square in
Gainesville TX.
What do you
mean by "limited edition"?
We make our bags in tiny quantities of just a few bags OR we
make one-of-a-kinds. Our editions of 3-4 bags often have
different buttons or linings making each of them unique.
We think "limited editions" of 250 are hardly "limited" and
don't do business that way.
Will my bag
look just like the photo?
The fabrics will be the ones in the photo. However, please
keep in mind that color calibration on every computer is a bit
different. Therefore, our dark army green military bags
may look more black than green on your screen, or a pink might
look a little more orange online than it does in real life.
Please read the descriptions of the bags which are very accurate
(since the writer is a color expert and can spot a cadmium
yellow light from a mile away.) If you
have questions, just ask. We might even be able to mail
you a color swatch.
What is your
return policy?
Quality is incredibly important to us and is one of the reasons
that we choose to make everything with our own four hands.
We do our best to make sure that all fabric quirks and button
cracks are kept far from your darling Cahoots bag. All
purchases are non-refundable. We do accept exchanges if
there is an error on our part (if we accidentally send you the
Sugar bag instead of the "Shug" clutch), but we cannot be held
responsible for lost or damaged packages, or for your compulsive
shopping habits. We ask that you choose your bags
carefully and we welcome questions about your purchase and your
item before you order.
Do you
wholesale?
Absolutely. We would love to add you to our list of
retailers. For wholesale pricing and terms, just shoot us
an email.
Do you have
gift certificates?
Yes we do.
Let us know what dollar amount you'd like via email and we'll
take great care of you.
How do I redeem
my gift certificate?
Just drop us an email letting us know what bag you want and how
you'd like to pay the balance, and we'll send you an invoice via
email. |
